About Us

Brainerd Area Youth for Christ is a collaborative youth ministry within the entire Brainerd Lakes Area. Churches of every denomination have committed to work together to form trust and friendship among the various youth ministries. Our ultimate goal is to share the love, life and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ alone, and to assist teens in plugging into their
local church.

How BAY is financed

B.A.Y. is solely supported by donations from churches, businesses and individuals who believe in what we are doing. For the past five plus years 95% of our programming dollars have come from churches and individuals. We have big dreams in ways that we can help our community's young people and improve their quality of life. Please consider investing in this community-wide youth ministry collaborative. All donations are tax deductible.

Our Five Areas of Ongoing Ministry

1. Concerted Prayer for each other, our churches, & our community.

2. Connecting as a Network of Youth Workers (Personal fellowship & support)

3. Corporate Events (ie: Concerts, Rallies & seminars)

4. Campus Ministries (Campus Life, Campus Life/FCA, Central Lakes College Student Outreach)

5. Community Liaison (Radio; "Flock Radio", "Flock TV", schools, police & civic organizations)

Director- Dale Kuglin

Dale and wife, Diane, moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1986 to work as a Youth Pastor at a local church. During the 12 ½ years of ministering to the youth and their parents, Dale and two other local youth workers formed what later was named Brainerd Area Youth Ministries (B.A.Y.). In 1998 these youth leaders moved to join Youth for Christ and asked Dale to become their full time director. Today Brainerd YFC is focused on reaching the Lakes Area’s
students through an ongoing mentorship programs, connecting youth leaders; full and part-time, concerts, rallies, radio programs and heavy involvement with the Brainerd School District and other surrounding school districts. Brainerd YFC also provides crises counseling and presents in-school suicide awareness programs in the five county area. Dale & Diane have two sons, Corey & Justin.

Jourdan McGuire

Growing up in the Brainerd Lakes Area, Jourdan loved attending every BAY Rally, concert, and events she could.

  She didn’t realize it until she was in college but BAY really influenced the way she does ministry now. Jourdan wants to reflect the way BAY brings youth groups from many different denominations together to worship and grow in Christ, along with kids who don’t have a clue who Jesus is.

   After graduating from college Jourdan was able to come back to Brainerd and was hired as a youth pastor in a local church. “One of the first people I called was Dale Kuglin to let him know I was really excited to bring students to BAY events. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the BAY staff. I am learning a lot about ministry and getting to know a lot of awesome students!”

Interns and volunteers

Brainerd Area Youth for Christ's success happens because of the many individuals who willingly give of their time, talents and expertise.

Area of needed volunteers involve; computers, clerical work, video and TV productions and people with big ideas.
